Let's Walk "Down the Road" and see what we find....
MEET JAKE: A man of many facets....
Jousting is the latest thing I learned he did for a time. He's been an inventor, a juggler, fire dancer, and so many other things, I loose track. What has always remained consistent is his dry, witty sarcasm that puts me in stitches, even when the joke is at my own expense. What is it about a British accent that allows someone to say the most incredibly biting comment, but somehow manage to be charming and hilarious?
Noted for roles as bad guys and anti-heroes in a dozen features over the past several years, he claims he's looking forward to what appears on the surface to be a more sympathetic role in Dan Henniman. When I first approached him with the play, he said "Wait, you AREN'T asking me to be the serial killer?" Yes, we Americans love our British bad men. However, we also love our British leading men. We both noticed that a common criticism of Dan in previous productions was that he was somehow secondary, unequal to his wife Iris. Conclusion: Dan is by no means secondary. He is integral, pointing out our ability to become someone just like Williams Reach isn't that far fetched.
