Thanks to the generous support of audiences, EMH Productions raised $400 to benefit the Sacramento Senior Safe House through a special raffle during Moving Mountains by Lawrence Roman. The show attracted sellout audiences of all ages. Prizes were donated by Ovation Stage, Free Fall Stage, Resurrection, Green Valley Theatre Co., B St. Theatre, Dan Fagan and Coleman Chiropractic.
"Your generous donations provide safety and help return self esteem to our most at risk seniors. From my heart, grateful thanks,” said Maxine Milner Krugman, longtime senior advocate and Founder of Sacramento Senior Safe House. Juanita Daniel, Program Director, also extended her appreciation, “Sincerest thanks on behalf of our residents who would not otherwise have this valuable support.”
“This show moved both mountains and hearts and we are thrilled to have raised funds to support seniors in need,” said Elise Hodge, Owner, EMH Productions. “It’s important to me to give back to the Sacramento community and once again audiences were so supportive. I am very pleased to present their donations to the Sacramento Senior Safe House where they provide a safe and nurturing environment for some of our most vulnerable community members.”
Sacramento Senior Safe House provides a safe and comfortable refuge for abused and neglected seniors referred by Sacramento County Adult Protective Services and other community partners. Seniors age 62 and older receive shelter while secure, stable housing can be acquired. A Volunteers of America program and 100% community funded, it is distinguished from other emergency shelter options by its home-like environment.
