Women's Wit and Wisdom
March 2024 Theatre Festival
Women's Wit Wisdom - Performing March 13th - 31st, 2024
So excited to be doing our first Women's History Month Theater Festival, featuring local playwrights, female writers, actresses, director, crew and producers.
What we are looking for:
Writers: Female playwrights with stories featuring women (preferably all female casts or casts with predominantly female roles) - if your story features LGBTQ or non-binary, highlighting the female experience or an historical figure, please submit a script - if your story is about a woman/female identifying character and her/their interaction with the male world requiring several male roles, please still submit
*All script lengths welcome as well as monologues, spoken word and poetry
Actors, Directors, Producers, Crew: You can involve yourself by auditioning for The Artist's Collective to help be an integral member of the festival from selecting material to acting, directing, producing, stage managing, and technical direction. YOU DO NOT Need to be an Artist's Collective member to be considered for the festival. You will simply be more involved with the inner workings of the festival if you audition for the club. Membership begins in February of 2024 and is a 6 month commitment. We will be working with as many people as we can to make this a great 3 weekend run of amazing stories celebrating women!
ACTORS: Please bring to us your favorite female driven monologue or scene or musical number for consideration for the festival (or to be considered for other material we select)
DIRECTORS/PRODUCERS: Please set up an interview to pitch us your favorite play be it full length, one act, 10 minute or just a scene or monologue you wish to direct (or to be considered for directing something we select)
All are encouraged to participate in this festival so please reach out ASAP:

THE ARTIST'S COLLECTIVE - Company Members
Welcome to The Artist's Collective! I look for artists of all types both film and theater who are seeking a community to learn and grow and socialize with as well. This club is not specifically a theater company but rather a place for you to work on your goals as an artist be it film or stage. This is for everyone, not just actors and directors. This is for all types both in front of the camera or behind, on the stage or off.
Our goals and dreams and aspirations as entertainers has a home to network from at The Ooley Theatre where we produce our myriad of ideas for stage and screen. This club's focus is to allow artists of all levels to explore their talents or learn new ones.
We are a minimal dues paying club. You are NEVER required to be a member to audition for shows with the collective, EMH or The Ooley Theatre. You will be equally considered for all roles you are fit for regardless of membership. This club encourages you to work with others in our community, while requiring its members to support the club in a variety of ways that you can choose to participate in.
If you are a writer, please submit a short excerpt or 10 minute play. If you are an actor, come with your monologues or be prepared to cold read a monologue. If you are a director, producer, stage manager, film maker (all aspects of film), or technical crew for stage, please come in for an interview to talk with our members and myself, Elise, and see if this is a place for you!

ELISE HODGE - Producer/Director/Writer/Actor
The Artist's Collective is set up with an eye towards allowing artists be they actors, writers, directors, producers, light or sound or set or camera and all manner of behind the scenes artists to be able to present a project they wish to do, and then we can hopefully help them attain that goal. For example, if an actor comes in with a dream project, we consider it and then cast them in the role if we go forward with the project, as they are the one who came forward with it to be done. I believe it lacks integrity to tell actors you are casting all roles when in reality you are not. My hope is that people will be excited by the idea of having a place they come develop a project, to see it come to life and be part of it. I am hopeful that the idea of being in a show that is someone's dream makes it that much more fulfilling for all those involved. - Elise Hodge
