GEORGE WASHINGTON'S TEETH
by Mark St. Germain

Presented in partnership with Concord Theatricals

ABOUT THE SHOW:
With time running out to renew their lease, the women of the beleaguered New Bunion Historical Society must find creative ways to snare new members and lure visitors to their sleepy New England town. When a set of George Washington’s dentures turns up in the hands of an unexpected rival, the ladies of the society brace themselves for all-out war. Heartfelt and historic, this farce proves that our differences don’t divide us, they make us strong.

INTERMISSION:
There is no intermission for this production.

A PLAY IN ONE ACT

SETTING: New Bunion Historical Society Museum, New Bunion, New England

TIME:  The Present

CAST IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE:

Picture

Lee Zamloch
Anne

Lee is excited to return to the Ooley stage as Anne in George Washington’s Teeth. She has previously appeared here in Speed Dating 1, Grey Gardens and This Is Me. Previously, Lee has appeared in Actor’s Theater productions of Husbands, I Am Woman, A Chance Encounter and Sisters as well as a number of ensemble pieces. Lee is a member of The Writer’s Room, a group of writers attached to The Artists’ Collective which is dedicated to writing for the theater. She thrilled to see both Speed Dating 1 and Speed Dating 2 appearing together. Originally, Speed Dating 1 was presented as a standalone piece. Audience feedback suggested that Lee write a companion piece which became Speed Dating 2. Lee has written a number of pieces for the theater, and her three-act play, Dirty Dora is appearing at the Ooley in May, 2025.

Denise Mayberry
Edie

I am so excited to once again be a part of the Women’s Wit and Wisdom Festival. I am honored to bring back the diverse roles of Helen, Zoe, and Kyle’s Mother in Michelle Lowe’s heartbreaking yet heart warming String of Pearls. Playing the role of Edie in Mark St. Germain’s George Washington’s Teeth has been great fun. I’ve also enjoyed playing Fran, in Lee Zamlock’s original one act Speed Dating 2. Performing at the Ooley Theater with such talented actors and wonderful humans always feels like home to me. I hope the joy and work put into all of these productions shines through. Enjoy!

Joanna Johnson
Director

This will be Joanna's first full length play direction entirely on her own and we are so thrilled for her! She has long filled the role of assistant director, costumer, props manager, stage manager, lights and sound designer and operator along with gracing the stage as an actress and last year, she took over the role of full director a few weeks into rehearsal for Radium Girls. So having her for this laugh out loud comedy to truly call her own vision was a delight to see happen. She loves her cast and their delight in doing this show and thanks them for their hard work. Now, enjoy the show!

K. Matta (AKA Kaos)

They're excited to be returning to the stage after being on hiatus. When they aren't helping backstage, Kaos is hanging out with their wonderful family and working as a Murder Mystery actor & queer artist. They would like to thank Joanna & Elise for the opportunity for this amazing show and Ryder & Joe for their love and support.
