WE'RE BACK!!
NOV. 9th, 10th and 11th - 8pm $20 General Admission $17 SARTA/Seniors Welcome to Texas! Home of the original rednecks we all know and love, especially the Turnover family. Buford Turnover (Lew Rooker) is suffering from advanced dementia and a recent stroke so it's only a matter of time before he dies. Told by Buford's mother-in-law Mama Wheelis' (Deborah Shalhoub) that their father is dying, his four adult children arrive at the family's homestead to spend time with their father during his last days. It's a mixed bag of personalities: Sara Lee (Adrianna Marmo), the spinsterish sister who cares for her father with the help of her grandmother; Lurlene (Elizabeth Anne Springett), a minister's wife who rarely visits the rest of the family; Orville (Rob McCrea), the greedy, abusive brother, and his wife, Marlene (Elise Hodge); and the youngest sibling Evalita (Bethany Hidden), the six-times married aspiring country singer, who brings her hippie boyfriend Harmony (Mitch Thompson). All arrive at the Turnover homestead, and personalities clash in this dark comedic drama about loss, love and family dynamics we all know a little too well. This is EMH's second venture with Corey Morris and it is wonderful to have him on board. This play is fun, funny, but also heart breaking in its depth of love and sense of family. Dysfunction is just a natural part of most families sso we invite you to sit back and laugh when you relate all too well to these family dynamics that come out through the course of the play. Laughter is good for the soul. We could all use a lot more of it!
EMH has produced local Sacrmaento Theatre for the last 5 years and running with hit shows such as Moving Mountains, Liar, Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead, Goodbye Freddy, and most recently Sex with Strangers by Laura Eason.
