EMH Productions, in partnership with Atim Udoffia, is excited to bring to the stage a well-known and thought-provoking show such as Doubt. Atim and Elise have long spoken about doing a play together as producers and actors, so here it is!
As producers, Atim and Elise spent time looking for something that spoke to people in a way which would stimulate conversation and promote much needed discussion of several issues the play interweaves throughout its skillful primary story about a nun on a mission to oust a possibly inappropriate priest. But what comes out is not so much the question of whether or not Father Flynn is guilty but what motivates Sister Aloysius to suspect him. Is it power? Is it anger at his forward thinking ministries to the flock? Jealousy? It is something much more terrifying for someone like her, in that he makes her question her faith? What motivates us at our core to carry out our perceived duties in life? And what do we do when those motives are put into question? These are just some of the things brought to light in this powerfully impactful story. We look forward to sharing it with you in November! SHOW RUNS NOVEMBER 3rd - 19th. Tickets on Sale in September on this site or via email [email protected]. |
