Music has always been an integral part of my shows and I am beyond excited to have such amazing talent grace the stage with us for this production.
Jimmy Porter, our title character and professed angry young man, has often been in my mind a person who resembles Jazz in all its forms of rhythm, blues, sadness, wild tempo, cacophonous torment, and in some forms, an expression of outrage, injustice and yes, anger.
It is with these thoughts in mind that we attempt to underscore this show with live music to really bring home the wild nature of our title character.
PRODUCTION:
E.M. Hodge - Director and Producer
As the creative director for EMH Productions, it's really a joy to be able to put up work others bring to my attention. This play has been on a list for many actors, and I find it really speaks to much of what we are seeing today. The frustration and outrage at what it takes to get ahead, the class warfare we are experiencing, to say nothing about race, gender and equality for the human race in general.... We are a new generation of angry young people and for that, we do this show and hope to give voice to some of what that experience is like. I am pleased and honored to be producing this amazing play with such a wonderful group of talented people.
